You may leave a message for the Men's Club by calling 760/944-1936 and, at the appropriate opportunity, press 7 to be switched to the Men's Club extension. After the ERMGC announcement starts, you may press 402 for the opportunity to leave a message.
We have entry blanks for three different competitions in this newsletter. Please put both your first name and last name on the entry blank. If you have any questions about any of them, please call Dave Balser at 760/436-6139. Dave is the Tournament Chairman for the Men's Club.
You will notice that a place for your E-Mail address is on each entry form.. This is entirely optional. We are attempting to update our membership list, and, if you don't wish to provide your E-mail address, that is perfectly OK. You may also E-Mail this information to Chuck Koscielski directly if you wish. His E-Mail address is happy2bc@aol.com.
We usually have a 90 degree cart rule in effect at Encinitas Ranch. This rule benefits all of us who play the course. As Men's Club members, we should always set a good example in the way that we treat the course in every respect.
EQUITABLE STROKE CONTROL (ESC)
ESC the downward adjustment of individual hole scores for handicap purpose. ESC sets the maximum strokes a player can record on any hole. ESC is used is used when a players actual score exceeds the maximum number based on the table below.
| COURSE HANDICAP | MAX. NO. ON ANY HOLE |
| 9 or less | double bogey |
| 10 through 19 | 7 |
| 20 through 29 | 8 |
| 30 through 36 | 9 |
Example: A player with a course handicap of 13 can take a maximum of 7 strokes on any hole, regardless of par.
Of course, a player uses the full score for any tournament competition and applies the ESC to the score entered in the handicap computer only.
T-SCORES
T- Scores are entered in the handicap computer only when directed to do so by the tournament director for that specific tournament. Wednesday men's play does not require a T- Score.
You may have noticed a new computer in the clubhouse. The computer does not have a keyboard, you simple touch, you don't have to push hard or punch, the big golf ball in the center of the screen and follow the directions on the screen. It is so simple to use, even an adult can do it.

July Tournament Chairman ERMGC Men's ClubThe tournament will be a flighted better ball format. You may invite anyone as your guest. If the guest does not have a verifiable handicap, the guest will play with a 0 index. The Guest's index must be within 6.0 points. If not, the higher of the two indexes will have to play down to a lower handicap. Example: you are a 10.2 and your partner is a 17.5. your partner will have to play at a 16.2. Indexes as of June will be used.
There are only 72 teams reserved (total of 144 players). This tournament will probably "sell out", so return this entry form as soon as possible.
Completely fill out the entry form including first names. If you request for playing partners (to round out your foursome) or tee time preference, indicate on your entry form. We will attempt to honor as many requests as possible. Keep in mind that most players prefer an early time, therefore, only so many can be honored.
The tournament is a shotgun start at 2:00 pm.
There will be free hats and a BBQ
dinner afterward.
The Tournament Chairmen for this event are:
Dave Murphey - 760/943-0916
