2012 "39er" Tournament
Sunday, March 18, 2012
Tee Times starting at 10:00AM

Format – The “39” Tournament is a points based format similar to a Stableford point system. Every player starts with a score of 39 and then subtracts his handicap from that. Play is then scored like a reverse Stableford. The Championship Flight plays to scratch. The lowest score wins, and so on. There are no stroke holes as your strokes or handicap are subtracted at the start. This is an individual stroke play event. Scoring – Points are subtracted on each hole as follows:

Double Bogey/other 0 points
Bogey 1 point
Par 2 points
Birdie 3 points
Eagle 4 points
Double Eagle 5 points

25-1b/20 Stance Interfered with by Burrowing Animal Hole; Impracticable to Make Stroke Because of Other Condition

A player's ball is in an indentation at the base of a tree in such a position that it is clearly impracticable for him to make a stroke. Despite this, the player claims relief without penalty under Rule 25-1 because his stance for a stroke at the ball in the indentation would be on a burrowing animal hole. Is the player entitled to relief without penalty under Rule 25-1b?

Under the Exception to Rule 25-1b a player may not obtain relief from an abnormal ground condition if it is clearly impracticable for him to make a stroke due to interference by something other than such a condition. In the circumstances described above, the player's ball is unplayable as it lies in an indentation at the base of a tree. Therefore, the player is not entitled to relief under Rule 25-1 from the burrowing animal hole.
